AI helps man recover from spinal cord injury
Plus: Nvidia stock rally, AI now in Photoshop, and e2b-dev/e2b
Welcome to this week's edition of The AI Breakdown! We have AI fixing spinal cord injuries, AI triggering stock rallies, and AI in Photoshop.
Scientists have developed a brain-spine interface (BSI) that restores walking ability in individuals with spinal cord injuries. AI algorithms were used to decode brain signals, creating a map for scientists to use in their brain-spine interface. The BSI uses implanted recording and stimulation systems to establish a direct connection between cortical signals and the modulation of epidural electrical stimulation, allowing natural control over leg movements and improved neurological recovery. I wonder if this type of mapping and decoding could help with neurological diseases and issues like Alzheimer's disease.
Nvidia's strong earnings and revenue forecast, exceeding expectations, triggered a rally in AI-related stocks and propelled the chipmaker's market capitalization close to $1 trillion. The surge in interest in AI and the anticipation of next-generation AI technology have fueled investor optimism and bets on companies involved in AI development and hosting. If you missed this stock pick, you might want to keep your eye on Nvidia’s competitors.
Adobe has released Generative Fill, powered by Adobe Firefly Generative AI, as part of the Photoshop (beta) app. This new feature allows users to generate content from text prompts and seamlessly integrate it with Photoshop's comprehensive range of tools. Generative Fill enables users to add, extend, or remove content non-destructively, matching the perspective, lighting, and style of the image for quick and impressive results. If you are a designer, the speed at which you will be able to complete your work will skyrocket.

🛠️ The Best Open Source Tools
This week's open-source project is a bit of a competitor to last week's smol-ai/developer. e2b gives you the ability to use agents to complete a complex task like generating the code for a Chrome extension using prompts.
