How AI is Transforming the Future of Hiring
Plus: Amazon investing in AI, Toyota AI Car Design, and a new AI developer project
In this week's edition of The AI Breakdown, we'll discuss how AI is transforming the future of hiring, Amazon's hefty investment in AI, Toyota's utilization of AI in car design, and introduce a new open-source generative developer to assist you in coding applications.
You're likely familiar with the Myers-Briggs Personality test. Talent Select is the AI version of this test. During a live interview, this tool analyzes the words candidates use to determine if they are a good personality fit for the company.
As the technology is fine-tuned, it could become an invaluable tool for interviewers in determining whether a candidate fits well within the team. It also introduces an objective element that may reduce bias in the hiring process.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center, a program planning to invest $100 million in startups and organizations focusing on generative AI.
While AWS's investment is substantial, it is not the largest commitment to AI funding currently. Salesforce Ventures and Workday have pledged $500 million and $250 million respectively to back AI technologies and startups, indicating possible major power shifts in the future of big tech.
The Toyota Research Institute has introduced a generative AI tool that aids vehicle designers by producing design sketches from text prompts while also optimizing performance metrics.
This tool might reshape the dynamics between designers and engineers. Traditionally, the design process involves iterative back-and-forth between these two teams, with designs often failing to meet initial engineering requirements, necessitating extensive collaboration. The speed of developing a new vehicle could be significantly reduced with this new tech.

These generative developer projects are always popular on GitHub, though they've mostly been seen generating simple applications. Nevertheless, I'm still going to try this one out.
